taking out your crash bar will be one step
you might have fitment issues under the headlights where the bumper, headlights, and fenders come together...
*Shrug* go for it, be ready to spend some moolah though

IIRC, by getting the mondeo lamps and grill, you would also have to get a mondeo hood and fenders. i could be wrong though, it has happened a lot.
after i wrecked the entire front end of my SVT and had it replaced i thought about doing it since everything had to be replaced but it was too late before they started replacing stuff. good luck, i'm sure if someone can mold a Cobra R bumper then you can get that to work too

You have to get new fenders and the whole shibang on the pre 98's. The corner lights are slightly larger, not much but just enough to not fit.
Now legally can you ditch the crash bumper? I thought that was some government law that you had to have that, but it may only apply to buying a new car. If you can do it legally Im there!!! The mondeo bumper looks so much smoother than the nice lip we have on our tours.

You gotta do both the front and the back though. The front mondeo bumper and the rear contour bumper dont exactly match.

and dont forget, the UK mondeo front bumper got a recess for the long style numberplate in the front middle of it, will need to be modded out if u dont run with plates on the front, something us Brits have to put up with BB ( UK moderator on the MEG )
Its not how fast u go, its how late u brake

The only potential problem I see is that IF you have to get an inspection, is ending up with someone that looks for that.
How many people know enough about Contours to look for that kinda thing and do you know someone at an inspection place that can give you the hook up. Also, is that an item on any inspection list.
Honestly, there are no bumper police(except in California maybe)that I know of.
