hate it
fmr12b described how sh!tty things are pretty well, although he does things on a MUCH larger scale than I do.
I hate it because of the people I have to work with.
I love the work. I love the concepts, but I hate the crap I have to go through to do the things I love.
boss is a prick - is totally unreasonable, he's a relic, he relates any and all situations back to himself and if you can't be like him, then you're not dealing with a situation in your personal life correctly in his opinion.
He treats professionals like children. He's motivated by anger. He uses fear tactics to motivate his employees.
It's all utter b/s. He's sexist and puts too much stock in status and labels. oh and did I mention he's a lawyer.
I now understand why people hate lawyers so much.
He is incapable of hearing other people's side of the story. I believe that's the lawyer in him where he always has to be right.

Granted this is only the second firm I've worked with since I received my degree, I'm convinced now from my experiences that it will be sh!tty like this no matter where I go in this industry, no matter how big or small the firm.
The sh!t will always pile up high and it'll ALWAYS get in the way of me being able to enjoy the actual work.

I want out but have no idea where to go.
I feel I've wasted years of my life trying to put myself into a career that I'd love and would support me for the rest of my life only to find it's one of the most unhealthy situations I could have ever put myself into.

on the topic of comparing hardships:
don't do that. Knowing that someone else out there has it harder than me does not help my situation suddenly get better. You can't compare how a difficult sitation affects an individual both mentally and physically based on another individuals' difficult situations.
