My wife and her ex have gotten into it several times in the past about child support (he didn't pay for about 7 years), but I never once stepped in the middle of it. It wasn't my problem, it wasn't my money. I supported the boy no matter what. Finally his dad decided to be involved in his son's life and started calling, paying part of the court-ordered child support (my wife doesn't even hit him up for the full amount, and she refused alimony in the divorce proceedings), etc. and you can tell the boy is much happier. In fact, just yesterday we put him on a plane for his regular summer trip to Mass.
