Thanks Tiger, I think I will take your advice on this. Let them work it out. We would still do anything for my nephew even though he drives us up the fuggin wall. My sister never really taught him to respect others and he is a smart a$$ to us constantly. My husband got on him yesterday for it, I think it will make the kid think a little more before he says another word to him like that. I got ticked on Sunday and actually took the kid to the floor and layed on him until he calmed down because his mom told him to clean his room because my husband, baby, & I were going to stay in his room while we were there. He didn't want to clean it, so of course he fought with his mother. When he came back into the living room, that's when I got him. I am pretty heavy for my size, so I was able to hold him down and give him a peice of my mind about his behavior. Otherwise he wouldn't listen. He's just that way. He agreed he was acting like a jerk and apologized to his mother. He then went back into the room and cleaned it. We have tried to help my sister with her situation, which is the kid not listening and being violent. Unfortunately, she will agree she needs to do something, but doesn't follow through. Even his dad jumped his a$$ when we dropped him off yesterday about it. This is why I think the boy should stay with his dad. He dad will actually follow through, which is why the kid went back home with mom again. It sucks. Anyway, thanks for everyone's comments, and No, I do not need to get a life. We all have family problems, I just respect the opinion of the ppl on this board enough to ask what you all think should be done. I know you guys are joking when you tell me to get a hobby, but come on, this is serious. I needed a serious opinion.

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

No valid reason to lock it. Whether you like the subject or not doesn't matter.
Tiger: You sound like a stand-up person. I liked your story
Furby: Stay out of their problems!!! That money situation is between her and him! My wife and her ex have gotten into it several times in the past about child support (he didn't pay for about 7 years), but I never once stepped in the middle of it. It wasn't my problem, it wasn't my money. I supported the boy no matter what. Finally his dad decided to be involved in his son's life and started calling, paying part of the court-ordered child support (my wife doesn't even hit him up for the full amount, and she refused alimony in the divorce proceedings), etc. and you can tell the boy is much happier. In fact, just yesterday we put him on a plane for his regular summer trip to Mass.

Your post proved my point. Children need boundaries & guidance & rules. The structuring offers stability & a known limit for acceptable behavior. Children need the reassurance that "this behavior is bad" & an occasional, "Hey, you've really been a joy lately, & I like spending time with you. You're a good person.". Makes a huge difference when somebody sees that they have something to contribute to the world, & they matter.
Best of luck to all. I hope everything works out for the better.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Yes, too many times actually. The point is that it should not be on here in the first place.
