There is a squealing sound, I think it is in the brakes, the sound is just present while driving, if I push slightly and release the pedal the sound stops, but after a while it comes back, It does not sound in normal braking,
According to a mechanic the pads are not worn,

Any Idea???

BRAKES"?
I AM GUESSING I COULD HAVE A BRAKE SQUEALING NOISE ALSO.
BUT MINE IS OPPOSITE TO YOURS- THERE IS NO NOISE WHILE DRIVING, ONLY WHEN I BRAKE OR SLOW DOWN.
MY CAR HAS ONLY 31,000K AND WENT TO DEALER LAST MONTH FOR OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION.

SHOULD I DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT OR IGNORE IT???
I DO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT HATE TO GO TO DEALER UNLESS I HAVE TO.
KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS- BEING A GAL.
ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM OUR LEARNED MEMBERS?????
THANKS FOR INPUT

Worn brake pads usually squeel when they are getting to the very end of life. Another few days and then they start grinding and it's big dollar bingo. frown 31K is not too early for front pads to be wearing out, and worth a check. Sometimes a dragging brake will squeek when the brakes are off and disappear when you slow. A close inspection of the calipers should find this type of problem. Rear drums can get squueky if there is lots of dust, and a good cleaning can quiet them down.
