One last thing... Sometimes the flapper doors inside the heater/AC box can stick in one position due to mildew sticking the flapper door gaskets one way so the selection flapper can't move to any setting other than defrost mode (in your case). When this occurs, the vacuum servo actuator in most cases, doesn't exert enough force to break the sticking door free. If this is the case, all you need to do, is find all the different actuators on the heater/AC box, and MANUALLY move them once with your hand to break them loose and insure that they can each move freely within the normal travel
