I should be receiving my new JVC HU in the mail today. I know that I will need a wiring harness and a tool to remove the stock radio from the dash. I have also read that I will need an "amp bypass" to rerout the signal around the factory amp. So here are my questions:

1)Is the amp bypass a separate peice or is it just part of the wiring harness?

2)Could I get the harness and/or bypass, as well as the puller tool, from best buy or circut city or another place like that?

Thanks . . .

For the puller tool, don't waste your money on buying something overpriced... just find an old wire coat hanger that no one cares about and fashion two U-shaped pieces from it. It should work just as well at far less cost.

Call up the good people at crutchfield, they sell the harness, and the complete set of instructions to put it in. They are overpriced but when you need certain things and good information they are definitely the place to go. Good Luck!

Thanks guys ... I'll call crutchfield, but I want to get this stuff within a couple of days, and didnt want to have to wait (or pay) for shipping. Thats why I wondered if there were local stores that have the stuff.

Take a trip to miejer.. They sell them now.. heh
They also sell the tool to, for a wopping $2.00
I have a set of ford keys that Ive had for over 9 years (bought them when I installed for a living)
They are just good to have around. Throw them in your rool box. Dont run to get a coat hanger every time you need to take a radio out.

Walmart, Miejer. Autozone, all have the parts. As for Harness don't go to cruthfield then you have to wait. just go to one of the above mentioned stores or Best buy (sorry had to try to get money for the company) lol
