I guess I would be one of those.

If you get a 75x4 amp to power your 4 6x8 drivers in the car, I would hope that is sufficient, especially if you are not wanting to add a sub. However, if you are needing better imaging and height to your sound stage, then the logical location for adding tweeters would be in the A-pillars firing basically across at each other. But, if you do this, be sure you attenuate their output somewhat and/or cross them over above 4 or 5k. Otherwise they will make your system sound worse (thin and harsh) than without them.

I do not have tweeters in this location (mine are in the kicks with my mids), but Anthony Davis does. We have both been successful in competition.
