Huh? I had a small tach mounted on the dash.  Before the SVT gauges.

Ok sounds right but question about mileage. Did you use the same Odometer or did you set the new one to your mileage? Ohh and one more question, what does the tach hook into? Im guessing there is some connector somewhere.

Milage.... well the one I got had 2000 more than mine did so I left it
it is part of the wire harness well unles you have a 2000 then you need to add the tach wire from the ECU in the dash you have two sets of wiresthe one on the left has the wires for the tach, temps gauge, and the dummy lights that are on the left, the right has the wires for the speedo, fuel gauge and the dummy lights on the right side.

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

Yeah 2000s suck. Why did Ford have to remove the tach signal wire!

Alright well with auiotour's help (he told me that the contour emblem on the dash comes out) I was able to install the tach right where i wanted it. I even wired it myself too. So it works, and it looks pretty darn cool. Not the best tach itself, but i have an automatic so its not too important. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

It is important when 1) you have a chip 2) and at high speed.
