dude its in your owners manual how much you can tow...its like 2000 lbs or some crap...and my car being an SVT its 5 speed makes towing much easier than on an auto car.....the car is perfect...its towed from Michigan to Va...and back....then to the race track....then to the painter...and its been used to tow other bikes that I have worked on so I could deliver them to my customers......the car tows beautifully.....
Exactly! What a bunch of pansies around here. "Oh God you can't tow with a Contour you'll *HURT* it!" Puh-lease. Like it's any harder than what most of us put a car through. I too, have thought about a hitch to haul track tires. And a bike behind a SVT?

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

Now it's time for me to feel like an idiot...
Here's some questions.
1. With a four cylinder I obviously pull less torque. Where at in the manual does it say my tow limit.
2. I'm moving my fiance in with me. We're trying to get a u-haul trailer that will fit all of her stuff. There is no way its 2,000lbs but it's a 1,000 mile trek. How will my tranny and engine like that?
3. Do I sound like an idiot? (I think I do. I can't believe I'm even considering this...)

Don't forget about the trailer wait itself. I think U-haul trailers weigh in at 500lbs+

Forget towing a trailer, get a small U-Haul truck and a towbar, drive the truck and tow the car.
