thats what you get for using a bike cable To answer your problem you might have a problem attaching the new cable to the old imrc box(of course you somehow managed to jerry rig the bicycle cable). I have a old imrc box in my garage if i can get the cable un hooked from the box with out having to cut it, you can have it. pm me to remind me update i just looked at mine and theres no way i can get the cable out with out cutting the box(wich is thick metal) or cutting the cable wich is pretty badly frayed already from 70k miles of use. Maybee try jerry riging it again
