So a couple days ago my leg started to itch. I look down and I have a line of redness. I didn't think much of it, but now its getting worse. Anyone want to jump in and tell me what it might be? Here is a pic:

colud be ring worm
had that a few years ago, although it formed more of a circular pattern, but had the same symptoms.

the doc gave me some antibiotic creme and it went away within days.

if you dont get rid of ring worm kinda soon the infection can get pretty bad.

Instead of asking our opinion, go get it looked at. Kinda like asking on a medical forum about what oil to use in your Contour

Seriously, go see your doctor.

If there are tiny blisters that burst when you scratch, it is probably poison ivy. Caladryl Lotion http://www.familymeds.com/familymeds/product.asp?sku=30071318119 (the pink lotion) works best. It takes about two weeks to cure the poison ivy and you have to keep applying the lotion. You can also take benydryl to stop the itching. Benydryl will cause drowsiness so most people take it before going to sleep.

It could be some type of fungus but it looks like poison ivy.

Could be cellulitis, a serious infection of the skin. (I had one on my leg last winter.) A week's worth of antibiotics fixed me right up. But don't fool around, get seen for this right away! It can easily progress to sepsis, an infection of the blood!

I felt foolish going to the ER for what I thought was just some kind of rash. (I have no family doctor) But they took it quite seriously at the hospital. Go now!

Looks a lot more like poison ivy than ring worm (I've had both, unfortunately). Like HTM said, see a doctor!

Almost definently not Ringworm. Looks nothing like that.

I'd wager a guess that it's Poison Ivy or a more severe than usual reaction to some sort of nettle weed like a Bull Nettle.

It could even be an usual case of an athelete's foot like infection.

Personally, I'd paste that baby up with some calamine and wait a day or two before going to the doctor; especially since you don't seem so keen on doing that anyways, or you wouldn't be asking us.

Some sort of anti-itch cream wouldn't hurt either. Calamine will help that a little. If it's an infection rather than a reaction to a plant, scratching will cause it to spread, even get on your fingers and then spread to other parts of your body or other people.

Definitely looks like poison ivy or poison oak. Put some calamine lotion on it and you'll be good in a week or so.
