hello all,

new member from scarborough area(by the zoo). coming into some money in the next 2 months. want to drop about $5k into my ride.
i have a '98 mystique, black, tinted, stereo's done, 172k, have to get the O2 sensor fixed(friggin' engine light keeps coming on).
what's the best place to start, and where's the best place to go in T.O?
i want good work, but i don't want to get fleeced either.

No offence meant here but with that kind of mileage how much more life do you expect to get out of the car. I'm not saying it is hard to get a lot of K out of these cars just that I'd probably save the money to use towards repairs as the vehicle ages. To answer your direct question though I unfortunatley don't know of any places in TO as I just moved to the area. I'm sure there are a few on the boards though that will be able to help you. I know NVSMystique has had quite the impressive amount of work done to his car. He may be able to help you out.

MBB41 Thanks for the compliment. Now as for Benji you can always take your car to my old work, the Active Green +Ross at Dundas and Annette ask for Terry or Marco and tell them that Aaron sent you. They do great work and they are honest. As for the mods to your car what are you looking to do? How crazy do you want to go on the car? Let me know if I can help.

P.S. 172K not bad, I'm at 191k and if my car wasn't in teh paintshop for the past 6months I would have been at about 215k right now.

Suggest you browse the board for specific mods you wish to make since your question is too general to give you specific advice. As others have noted that would be a lot of $$ to put into your car, best you set aside some for unforeseen repairs.

Re CEL on, unless you have had code read it would not be wise to just guess the problem/solution. CEL can come on for many reasons, check FAQ section on home page for list. If you alreadt have the code post in the Troubleshooting Forum for interpretation and probable causes.

i know a very good exhaust and mild tuning shop in scarboro called Noyz boyz they have done work on my last 3 cars and they do good work for the price but its mostly exhaust ,intakes,and throttle bodies,and they can refill your nitrous tanks too. and welcome to ceg i trust u will enjoy your stay.hey im at kingston and midland.your not 2 far up kingston form me maybe i will see u driving around sometime.
