Been with the same girl for six years, we have a 3 year old son (the light of my life). We've had some communication problems that slowly led to us not living together anymore (she at her parents, me in the 3 bedroom house I bought for us). My son lives with her at her parents. She basically fell out of love with me 6 months ago. I bought my house last August and have lived by myself since. Holding onto the hope that perhaps things would get better. Last night I sat her down and made her tell me how she felt. She hasn't loved me for some time, but was afraid that if she broke up with me I wouldn't be nice to her anymore. So she basically left me to dangle in the wind for a long time, me trying to mend things and her knowing she didn't love me. Luckily for me all the pain of breaking up has been spread over months. She told me she didn't love me anymore last night, and she didn't see anyway that we'd get back together. We broke up on good ground, agreed to be friends and we'll still go out to chuck e cheese and ball games with our son. The last thing I wanted was to break up our family, but essentially she decided she didn't love me anymore, I spent 9 months trying to change her mind, until it became too unhealthy for me to continue.
My friends are bringing me to the "gentleman's club" tonight.

Those are tough times... I've been separated since last september, after 16 years with the same girl.. Married for 13 years, and 2 sons, 10 and 5 years old.. We're getting divorced in august.
I'm the one who left.. and I was replaced so quickly!
There is light... I just wish I could see it..

Hang in there, man. There may be times that seem like this is the worst, but remember that things could always be much worse than they are. You have a little man who you obviously love very much, etc...
Good luck.

Thanks for the support guys. I think I'm alot better off as I was in a very unhealthy situation. Living by myself, trying to no avail to mend our relationship. I was headed downhill. I knew her feelings for me had changed, I just avoided admitting it to myself. Now I just need to pick up the pieces. Having a friend move in with me will help emotionally and financially. Things can only get better...

Well, that just sucks. However, considering the circumstances, I have to recommend you repeat this mantra: "Wait a tick...I'm single again! Yeah, baby, yeah!"

I know what you are going through. My brother left my sister-in-law and 3 year old son about 3 weeks ago, he fell out of love with her months ago (so he claims).
They had many problems in their relationship, but since he left she has done many things to correct her problems. She is a MUCH better person since she has sought help, but he is not around to see it.
Problem is, he wants nothing to do with her anymore after 8 years of marriage. He is hung up on some girl he met on the Internet, if you can believe that. He has chatted with her, spoke on phone (daily) and has a picture, but never met her. I hope this Internet "Relationship" with the hot 24-year old bites him in the ass.
Oh well, sorry to rant, good luck with your situation.
Regards,

Times like these; don't be mad that it's over, be thrilled that it happened. Life is a test to show how faithful we are, and it is tough. There will be so many tough times ahead of all of us that it is not worth worrying about. Instead we should think of all of the possibilities we have in front of us to make this life more than rewarding. Things change, which is the hardest thing for people to deal with. Change is the only constant in life and it makes people very uncomfortable. We want security and comfort and familiarity. Like the first time you had to go to school with a pimple and thought you were the only one. Or the first time getting undressed and showering with your peers after gym class. These, at each moment, are the worst feelings in the world. Yet in the end, it's all ok isn't it. These moments of uncertainty always pass, just in time to face another one. There is always someone there for you and things always give way to opportunity. That one person is YOU, and that opportunity is to change things. YOU have to make things happen for YOU. Because in the end, YOU are the only one who is going to be there every time, 100% for YOU. Friends and family are great, but having faith in God is having faith in YOUrself. The conscience inside of us is God. People don't realize how often they communicate with God because they are waiting for some deep voice to come out of nowhere. God communicates with us through our thoughts. It will always end up for the better if YOU make things that way. Take it in...it's all there. The only missing piece is YOU.

Mamisano, You stating that you brother is hung up on some other girl is what I believe is probably behind your issues BKent!
Enjoy yourself tonight, you tried and as long as you are still committed to your son, which I believe you are, you'll be just fine!
Good Luck!

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
