EROCK,
How much is the fine?
Do you get points on your Lic for it?
I have the Bosal and I am in the same group as you guys.
Driving around town, I try not it get on it if I don't have to.
I have had cops follow me for BLOCKS because they see and hear the exhaust.
I have yet to be pulled over for it though.
They would rather pull me over for speeding 10 mph over the limit than give me a noise ticket.
We also met a Contour lover at Nathan's one night.
He told us that the State/City cops really don't have jurisdiction over noise.
The EPA cops do.
If you get pulled over by an EPA cop, then your in trouble.
They can give you a summons for the noise, and it is hard to get off.
But the law states that the exhaust has to be replaced with OEM parts, which isn't true, and is unconstitutional.
Even if you go back to your dealership for a replacement exhaust, they will install an AFTERMARKET exhaust.
So I don't know how this law can be enforced, and I don't really know how you can get off the law,
unless you claim that the law incorporates Monopolistic practices, which are unconstitutional.
Forcing us to only use OEM equipment forces ALL aftermarket parts
to be ILLEGAL for use, regardless of their certification.
It is a touchy subject, and with Bloomberg as the Money Hungry Mayor of NYC,
I don't think it is going to get any better anytime soon...
