just liked to throw in, i got some wheel hop with my zetec the other nite (wet) when "power braking", i guess it would have spun if it wasn't for the bad tranny mount. and later on it did spin a good bit coming outta a parking lot, not the usual bark or squeal but a true spin.

Doing this is NOT the optimal way to launch your vehicle. When you hold the brake and rev the engine, as the RPMs increase, there is a factor of acceleration in the RPM increase. Holding the accelerator until the engine doesn't accelerate its rpms any longer, kills the momentum of the engine acceleration. So now when you let go of the brake, the engine has to begin accelerating from whatever RPM it is standing at.
By stoppping your engine from accelerating through the RPM range, you are losing the energy and momentum that was already created.
Try it a few times both ways and see which way gives you an edge...

The only thing that stepping on the brake pedal does, other than applying the brakes, is to disengage the Torque Converter, if it is locked up at the time you step on the brake.

well i cant get my wheels to spin maybe im doin it wrong. is there a better way to launch this atx.i did pretty good against a heavily modded 90 prelude and he was mtx and we tied everytime and we raced like 17 times.but that was all because of the shift kit i just put in. but no damn tire spin im getting so mad i could just neutral drop it

What tires you using ? Sticky tires won't spin as easy.

You're not gassing it fast enough if you don't feel the bump. Open your hood and watch the engine as you break rev it. You'll feel the bump as the engine starts to travel.

I have tested so many ways to launch my car it is insane...I found my method as the best method (at the track),
