I really don't want Ford touching my car...just one disastrous, nightmare experience after another regarding the recall stuff I *did* allow them to do, including my exhaust system falling off, damage to the body, etc., etc.
I've read the numerous posts on the blower motor, & it seems simple enough to replace the resistor & wiring. As my blower is working fine, Ford won't do anything on it anyway, but I want to replace these wires myself, as a preventative measure.
I haven't seen anything here regarding what's involved in doing the wiring required for recall 00S44 - "Engine Cooling Fan Electronic Fuse" - I asked a Ford tech who comes into the store often, & he said it's not very difficult. Has anyone done this themselves? What's involved?
Could someone please give me the part numbers for everything I'll need to do both of these fixes?
Ford might be able to give me the right parts, but I don't even trust them to do that - I tried to purchase the parts from them, & the woman at the parts counter got rather defensive & hostile, & said, "Why would you buy something when you can get it done for free?" I just said I'd rather do it myself - she gave me a weird look - I caught them at closing time - told her I'd come back later.
Anyway, it seems that some folks here weren't having any trouble w/these wires burning up until they had Ford do these recalls!!!!! One more reason I don't want them doing it....
Thanks!!!
