Here is my story and why I am so pissed off at Ford. My air conditioning switch went out and at first they said it was a recall and I said thats great so I wont have to pay although I already took it to Ford last year for the same problem and was told it was the recall and it was fixed. Apparently it was not because they replaced it. Then they came back and said it was the Heater Blower Motor and that would cost 128.00 to fix, i said no way and left. I went to Rapid auto parts and got the blower for 45.00. Then one Ford place wanted 35.00 to put in said it would take 1 hour and another wanted 48.00. My husband went in popped it out had no idea of what he was doing although someone from this Forum gave us directions and then popped it back in all within 10 minutes. How can they get away with charging so much money for something that takes 10 minutes. This makes me so mad. Thank god there is this forum.

Sad thing Robina..they did that to me, only the guy broke the part (it was the recalled resister under the glovebox that was expired 99M06). They wanted to charge me $25 to diagnose (half the rate because, well, he was going to cut me a break), $45 for parts and $83 for twenty minutes of labor (that's how long my mechanic took). I called my mechanic, told him what they said, he said get the part and bring the car to him. Total freakin' rip-off. Needless to say, I left immediately. Originally, I brought the car in to have the fan fuse replaced and instead they want to charge me to because they discovered what they claimed was a broken resistor. Funny thing, in New Orleans, I would notice if my AC wasn't working right. Ya know. wink
