Well its been a while now , that my car has been bucking and bogging down like its being choked by its intake pipe or that a ford powerstroke is tied onto my rear tow hook and pulling me in low gear..... it really sucks. Sometime I find myself by civics that wanna race and actually race just to see if my poor car can whoop some asian azz, yea its really sad, once a 15.4 second car now a 17 second car :-(. I just ordered the BAT replacement pump and I went ahead and bought the Water pump with the metal impeller too, just to make sure nothing goes wrong. I was really close to selling my SVT just seems to have allot of demons. How many problems have you guys experianced with your svt contours. IS IT REALLY WORTH IT!!!

It's a very easy replacement. I'm on my 3rd pump if you include the original. I put up with mine for 2 months before I changed it. Sometimes I think of getting another car, but can't seem to find anything out there that's as fun to drive for what I paid for mine. So yes, it is really worth it. Especially if you have an SVT. Just read the How-To on the pump and take out the whole unit first. Could have saved me about an hour.

yea well Ive taken out my stock pump before to remove the screen from the bottom so I have covered that allready, I think it would be so much nicer to update to a new more powerful car, I checked out the SRT-4 the other day and man was I impressed, did you know there are 3 turbo upgrades you can get through the manufacturer, second surpassing 300 hp!!! its just crazy.... I really dunno I payed an azz load for my contour and dunno if I will get anthing near what I payed.

It's not really the pumps that are bad. It's the stock screens/pickup setup. They clog and starve the pump. The pump quickly burns up without constant fuel cooling it.

You don't have to drop the tank. Access to the Fuel Float is under your back seat. Just aget a new pump/float and replace it.
