I started out thinking the samething, because it very well could be.

In my case though, I place my hand in the opening just under the steering column and can feel hot air blasting through. This time of year, it can get really bad. My A/C is on an extended vaction, so I know it is not that. Plus, you can only feel the air while moving at nice little click.

I parked the car so that the enigne bay would be pointing into direct sun light and raised the hood. I got in the "I Own a Clunker" position, head & shoulders in the footwell and legs wrapped around the top of the seat. While looking up, behind the dash/agaisnt the firewall, I could see light! I did have a flashlight handy at the time, so I did not get a good look at exactly where it was coming from, but I do know that it was not high enough for it to be space between the dash and firewall, allowing light to leak through from the windshield.

I plan on filling these gaps with something like crack sealant or something like that. This project is sort of like Bill Cosby's sick doorbell. It just never seems to get fixed. Now that it is getting hot, I am sure that it will get done very soon.
