From my local dealer (today): Spring-$11 Pin-$6 Guy at the parts desk said something about a related TSB the pin being a different number than what was in the computer . The pin works fine. Part #-w00001-S1309. Hope this helps

Sorry dude, that was the one thing I didnt work on. Dude, just called me up PIZZED at what he found and thought I knew about it...I was like .....ummmmm nooo..get the part and fix it and whatever else looks bad when you are in there...yaaaada yaada.
This was when I was having probs trying to tech out why I was not getting ooomph....bad MAF...but hey, the timing belt and seized tensioner were an added bonus I must say!
Well as far as thickness to the cap, I wouldn't get real crazy with it and PLEASE, don't drop the washers inside the cover. That is all you need! Something foreign falling in there and you are likely to have a very bad day! I would experiment with thin washers or just remove it if it bothers you a lot...but...make sure you do the time and inspect that belt. If it is bad, fix it. Don't just put a band-aid on it and call it a day.
