The oil sender is to the drivers side of the filter. The top is plastic. If you suspect it has failed, clean it off good and restart the engine. you should be able to see any oil coming out of it then. It just screws out. Unplug the connector first. If you don't have a socket big enough (over an inch), Autozone will let you borrow one. I prefer to use hydraulic sealant (Loctite 545) on the threads. Be careful not to get tape or dope down in the hole, or it will end up in the cam bearings or a lifter.
