If you noticed on Sylvania's website then you'll know the $40 is deffinately worth it. The 9006 produces ~1,000 Lumens @ ~4,000k color temp at 55 watts, but the 9005 produces ~1,700 lumens @ ~4,000k color temp at 65 watts...

So there is a 70% increase in light output...

Didn't mean to bring back an old thread, but if someone wanted to know for future reference...

Your increasing the wattage from 51 to 60, so your going to notice a difference and yes, its WELL worth it I had the 9005 SS's in my Tour before I got my HIDs and they were great, especially for the money. Just give the 9006 SS's to a family member and get those 9005 SS's and start enjoying the upgrade!

wattage mean jack. in general, more watts means more light, but by, say, tuning the filament composition to get a different color, you could make it consume more power without any difference in the amount of light produced.

In short, a Watt is a measure of the power consumed, a lumen is a measure of how much light is produced. They often go together, but not always. for example, a 25W flourescent bulb produces about the same number of lumens as a 100 watt incandescent.

so how do u go about adjusting these headlights?

for one, my bulbs wont screw in to the thing in the first place

but on top of that they've got this horrible aim (straight down) so its like I don't even have any lights on at all at night

I don't have a manual so how do i adjust the lights? i've been trying forever but i'm retarded and can't get them right

That's why the 70% increase in lumens is such a big deal.

I'm not going to refute your lighting info, but I know this, the 9005 SS puts out alot more light than the 9006 SS does, guaranteed "see the light, get the Silverstar 9005 in the low beam socket "
