Well, besides your mistyping... The cams seem to be full advanced, to come on sooner in the rev range (i.e. more torque). In the Duratec, they should be retarded, to come on in the higher revs... Unless you weren't talking about what's actually wrong with them...

Hard to tell if those cams are stock or not, despite the sprockets being adjustable now. I would be very interested in that mod as it could be done motor in car. Not sure if it will help, but we'll see.

Question: Obviously, you will affect the timing events of the valves opening & closing. But if you advance/retard that intake camshaft there, you will also be advancing/retarding the input from that cam position sensor to the computer. Just like the "old days" of moving the distributer cap.
Do you have a chip and compenstate for this since you can't adjust the stock ignition timing?

you made me look closer at the pic... exhaust is also full retard, meaning zero-very littly overlap... why i'm not sure

it looks like when adjusting the gears, the sprockets stay aligned with the sensor, you end up turning the actual cam instead, therefore the ecu doesn't see anything different coming from the sensors....
Finally the gears are not mine... some member from NECO joined, asked a question about the PCV system, posted a bunch of pics of his top end, got an answer to his question, but hasn't addressed our questions about the gears... none of the pics seem to prove any type of supplementary intake system, actually the pics to disaprove s/c as you can't see any jackshaft coming off the timing cover and one pic shows some of the front manifold which of all things is tubular yet doesn't show much more... all that you can tell is he has twin port heads with butterflies and blue 24lbs injectors from a taurus (like the ones buckshot sold me)... the heads have come off the engine as the motor mount has been painted black (unless SVT comes like that stock - then he may even have an SVT motor)... he also has an oil pressure unit affixed to the rear head... it doesn't seem to be a racecar as a/c is still installed

ok i got to thinking... warmonger, your though that it looks stock, make me come to a theory that they are indeed stock, and they are just drilled....
look at this pic
on the back of the gears, is a plate, which seems to be what the bolts screw into... from all the other pics of stock cams i have looked for i can't see the same plate... now mind you i haven't checked very hard so if anyone has some closeups to the back of the stock cam gears, please post it....
now questions exists... how are the gears actually assembled onto the cam... how much pressure? is there some kind of indicator groove, snap ring, ect...
with that in mind you would need to remove the stock gear, bore out the center hole and cut your three grooves for the sprocket... then you would need to have a piece of aluminum machined, as well as the cam shaft to match it and hold it in place (some kind of gear or tonge/groove system or whatever works)... finally tap the 3 holes for the bolts into the aluminum plate reassemble and you are ready to go, there seems to be enough room between the cam gear and the first cap to allow for such a plate....
i'm sure someone here knows of a machine shop that can do this... for the rest of us would be sure bonus too...
