ok i got to thinking... warmonger, your though that it looks stock, make me come to a theory that they are indeed stock, and they are just drilled....

look at this pic

on the back of the gears, is a plate, which seems to be what the bolts screw into... from all the other pics of stock cams i have looked for i can't see the same plate... now mind you i haven't checked very hard so if anyone has some closeups to the back of the stock cam gears, please post it....

now questions exists... how are the gears actually assembled onto the cam... how much pressure? is there some kind of indicator groove, snap ring, ect...

with that in mind you would need to remove the stock gear, bore out the center hole and cut your three grooves for the sprocket... then you would need to have a piece of aluminum machined, as well as the cam shaft to match it and hold it in place (some kind of gear or tonge/groove system or whatever works)... finally tap the 3 holes for the bolts into the aluminum plate reassemble and you are ready to go, there seems to be enough room between the cam gear and the first cap to allow for such a plate....

i'm sure someone here knows of a machine shop that can do this... for the rest of us would be sure bonus too...
