Okay.. the verdict (I think) is in..

The semi-adept mechanic says that the problem was a small "pin" close to the tranny... He says that it was the pin that holds the shifter linkage to the rod that goes in to the tranny..

Est. ~450 to R&R, with labor incl.. Says done by Tuesday.... We'll see...

Keep your fingers crossed, and hope this guy isn't COMPLETELY dumbfounded..

He says that he can't replace just the pin... He has to get a new shifter tower.. I talked to Terry QUITE a few times, yesterday (Thanks dfor the phone email, BTW, a savior!)

Terry seemed to concur that the problems described would be resolved with a new shifter tower, so it really doesn't matter what the mecahnic thinks about the interior problems of the tower... All that matters is that he is replacing the tower, as Terry would suggest, anyway.

It doesn't matter to me WHY he think its broken, just that he thinks the SAME thing is broken as Terry does.. LoL..

Terry was nice enough to suggest a tower to me, from HIM, instead of from FoMoCo, so that will save some money, there... (THANK YOU TERRY!!!)

Anyway... Here's hoping things go down as they should..

MAN! I love this site!!!! Its cause you have people like Terry.....Chris.....Brad.....Lance that will bend over backwards to help you out!

Then you have people that have experienced the same things and can tell you what to do!

You guys need to make sure you say THANKS a LOT!!!

This site is my favorite of all and is the only site that I would even consider badging my car with!

Hey guys, if ANY of you are going to NOPI Nats, PLEASE SAY SO so that we can go and shake your hands and say thanks!

I will be there possibly (have to ask since it is copyright) with a shirt (Lance - Can I?) that has the CEG logo on it and probably sosaudio on back. So find me, say HI and tell me who you are so that we all can get together and talk shop!!!!
