This same thing happened to me twice. The first time I took it to ford. They replaced the motor, thank god it was covered under the warrinty, I think the bill was close to $400. Then it happened again this summer. I left it open all day at work, came out and it would not close. I drove home parked it and when I left later after the sun had set it worked fine. I havent left it open sitting out in the sun since, and have yet to have any more problems. I think there is a cheap plastic part that warps in extreme heat.
