I went back and looked and now I see the JK thing. Sorry man, I see red and think bad. Stupid Air Force trainging

I do enjoy working on my or any car for that matter. I grew up in my dads body shop so it's in me no matter what.
As for my time, I couldn't have made the same thing I got, with heat coating, for less. Everyone's time is valued differently, so let's agree to disagree there.
The rivets are on the bottom of the piece anyway, so you would never see them.

BTW, the K&N FIPK that I have in my truck has a metal heatshield and quite honestly, heatsoak is not a problem there. By the hand, you can not tell the difference between the outside temp and the temp by the filter. But put your hand on the engine side of the shield and you will easily tell the difference. So there is something top be said about using metal w/ some sort of heat shield coating.
May I ask you what you think about JetHot coating the aftermarket intake pipe(if used0 or even your Y-pipe for that matter? Both are metal. If you use something to coat it to keep heat out or in, then all should be good, right?
What do you think?
