Patience people, patience.

This has nothing to do with not getting the product that was ordered. It's all about not even being contacted after repeated emails from several individuals.
Tell me that you're having some problems, personal or business, and I'll have all the patience in the world. At least have the professionalism to reply to at least one email.
BTW, I don't think anyone is bashing a product that came out of the CEG. It's the customer service that is being bashed. Like I said, a single reply to one person that could at the very least spread the word would go a long way.
I do hope they get everything worked out.
I understand you pint of view and agree....and you know they should/could deal with this better, but i feel that any type of bashing, is uncalled for until we know the truth of the matter. Expressing frustration is cool so is getting upset....but bashing them (some have bashed them as people too, very uncalled for) i think should wait till we know the facts....for all we know there could be a 100% perfectly good explatntion for not being online.
And if not, by all means go ahead and yell at them all you want....Up till this incident happend i was in contact with chad till just before his run in with the police. The are good poeple doing there best...And im positive there not trying to ignor people intentialy. All i ask is to keep the bashing and rude comments to a minimum untill we find out what is exatly wrong...its the least we can do untile we found out.

I agree that as people, they shouldn't be bashed. I'm sure they have a good explanation. I don't have one on order, but if I did, I'd be wondering what's going on also. Everyone will just have to wait and see.

Heh, frickin' funny, I see the same arguments made over custom paintball gear on other forums. It *is* all about communication. I was getting antsy about not hearing from Chad about a laptop that I bought from him...he had $250 of my money and I had no info, no tracking number, etc., and no responses. I got an e-mail yesterday, though, saying he'd been caring for his mother who'd had a medical emergency. I'm OK with a little delay as long as I know what's up. Otherwise, I start formulating what to do if X or Y happens or doesn't happen, and that gets me wound up.

damn man you did see the just kidding icons in my post right?????and what i meant by mine looking like it belongs in the engine bay, well it sure looks less out of place than a riveted up piece of sheetmetal imo....
and you still have no argument about it not being cheaper to make your own, because it is....my rubbermaid dish pan- $3...can of flat black spray paint(cheap stuff)$1....no other materials were involved besides a tape measure(which i already had)and a dremel tool to cut it to shape(could have used a razor knife etc.instaed of dremel)i also had the dremel tool...so that's still only $4....
and time???how is that a factor?????i personally enjoy doing work on my car and modding it...i look foreward to working on and modding my svt,and the wife's stang...so time spent making something to better my car is time well spent imho...and if you don't think so then i find it hard to believe you are a true car enthusiast imo....oh and btw it took about an hour to do the whole thing(make the heatshield, and do the total install)not alot of time to spend bettering your car imo...and if you look at time is money, then ok i spent an hour of my time(that's $20 if i go by what i make at work)(ok it was a saturday so that would be $30 time and a half)still only a total of $34 dollars, plus the priceless satisfaction of bettering my car my self...
btw its fine if you like their product,i'm glad someone is offering one(if they would get some customer service they might be ok)but just because you chose to buy yours, don't hate on the people that make their own, because i guarantee that some of the homemade ones look better than the dtec...i also don't think a heat shield should be made out of metal but that's another topic..

I went back and looked and now I see the JK thing. Sorry man, I see red and think bad. Stupid Air Force trainging I do enjoy working on my or any car for that matter. I grew up in my dads body shop so it's in me no matter what. As for my time, I couldn't have made the same thing I got, with heat coating, for less. Everyone's time is valued differently, so let's agree to disagree there. The rivets are on the bottom of the piece anyway, so you would never see them. Mike BTW, the K&N FIPK that I have in my truck has a metal heatshield and quite honestly, heatsoak is not a problem there. By the hand, you can not tell the difference between the outside temp and the temp by the filter. But put your hand on the engine side of the shield and you will easily tell the difference. So there is something top be said about using metal w/ some sort of heat shield coating. May I ask you what you think about JetHot coating the aftermarket intake pipe(if used0 or even your Y-pipe for that matter? Both are metal. If you use something to coat it to keep heat out or in, then all should be good, right? What do you think?

yep i would imagine something jet hot coated would deflect the heat pretty good...but i just don't like the idea of metal being used in general is all...i was kinda poking fun back at you a little at first, because i thought your original post was meant to be slightly joking too...
just wanted to let you know that some of us with homemade h/s don't look like crap..some of us actually spend the time to make ours look good as well as being functional...its cool though man....

yeah, I was kinda being slight in my remark, then it just got outa hand for awhile there. I got defensive because those guys aren't on here defending themselves nor was anyone else really. Plus, I started off here in the CO-CEG and know those guys somewhat, so my loyalties lie there.
I know that a vast majority on here take the time to do only those things that looks good.
Sorry to those for letting this get out of hand and somewhat taking it personally.

As for the coating that Dtec. uses: it's great! My filter is cool to the touch even after hard driving. Equally as important, my CTA pipe stays much much cooler than any surrounding metal. As for their product: Chad and Alex make a shield that would take me 4-5 tries just to size it as well as they have! Let alone testing of coating products! They did some good R&D! Although it's a simple product with a simple task, it does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well! What was this original post about anyway? -Derek

Any updates from the people who already paid and did not/have not received their product? I'd like to order the heat shield, but I want to make sure everything is a go before I send the pay pal Bridge
