It's been too long to dispute the charges. 30 days for paypal.

I knew it was a home-based business. I didn't mind the wait, but a reply to an e-mail would be nice. If they can't make it, they could at least reverse the charges. I'm not rich and $60 is $60.

And people wonder why I refuse to use Paypal... Since they're not a bank or credit card company they can impose whatever rules they want. For credit card companies, a customer has 60 days to report errors after they receive their monthly statement, and merchants are legally obligated not to post the transaction until the product ships/service is rendered; they can only post a temporary transaction. Wow, my business law classes are finally coming in handy!

One positive is that Paypal can't force you into arbitration if you have a dispute; a federal judge ruled that that part of their contract is unenforceable.

This just reinforces my stance. on Paypal.

I'll just throw my experience out here:
Alex and/or Chad replied to every pm, email, or phone call of mine. They're super busy, and yes, it took ~4 weeks to get mine.

I didn't want to start a "what's up with these guys?" thread, and I'm sorry it's come to this. Sorry Chad and Alex. Perhaps this is the best place for them to throw their explainations out to you all.

I don't think you should apologize. I was, and still am interested in buying a Dtec heatshield, and I'm glad this whole conversation has taken place. The data seems to show that it helps in moderate temperatures. They've had some problems, but what I want to see now is how they handle them. This is the perfect opportunity for them to prove that they are either responsible members of this community selling a good product, or complete tools. I really hope its the former.

On the other hand, I should apologize for hijacking your thread. You have your heatshield, and you seem to like it, so there's no need to drag you into this

Just an idea for the Dtec guys.. if they are using Outlook, put a message in the out of office assistant saying we are swamped and we will reply to your email/order as soon as possible. Then we would at least know what is going on. I found the answer to the question I asked after some extensive searching. So depending on how they handle the situation I may still order one. Yes.. please keep us updated. Thanks.

I agree w/ Hetfield

I also ordered a DTEC about 3 weeks ago...not one response to any e-mails.

I would still like my heatshield, but, I'm thoroughly unimpressed w/ their customer service. It's unprofessional.

I hope they respond to either the PM I just sent or this forum....time will tell.

Just my $.02
