Before anyone else says "you wasted your money on the Dtec Heatshield" I'll ask that you refrain. Thanks

I ordered the Dtec heatshield w/ the ceramic coating and 'cause Chad and Alex are such nice guys, they coated my CTA intake pipe, too. Thanks guys!
First impressions
- white ceramic coating looks very nice and high quality. The white had to go, so it now has a couple coats of flat black paint.
- fit and finish are very nice. The shield slips snuggly in. I had to bend it a smidge, but all is well.
- I've been driving around at 2:00PM for the past two days and there's no sign of heat soak. I can't really log data, however. I will be taking a long trip this week and I'll give it the ol' hand-thermometer test. I'm hoping the CTA pipe will stay as cool as the filter.

I'll snap some pics as soon as I wash my engine (it's filty).

Thanks again to Chad and Alex. They do nice work that I am willing to pay for.

Agreed. I think we've covered that issue enough already.

I think a really good test would be to get a dual input thermometer and test the temperatures inside and outside the heatshield. Do some runs on the freeway and in stop-n-go traffic and log the results.

I'd really like to know how effective the heatshield is. I have the SHO Shop heatshield on my Sport, and on warmer days I can feel a little heatsoak.

Already been done. A guy with a Cougar did it. Forget who though.

I can't remember the results, but they were lower though.

I would love to have been able to try the heatshield on my Cougar. I sent payment two months ago and have recieved no product and no response from the e-mails I have sent to them.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up who might be considering doing business with these people.

My understanding was that they've been swamped and they're trying to work through the backlog. However, if they haven't even responded to you that is unacceptable. Please let us know if the situation changes.

that's absolutely true. i ordered mine 3 weeks to a month ago. emailed a couple weeks ago, no response. emailed to all 3 addresses thursday or friday, still no response. i agree with the fact that it is ok to be swamped, but a response is a definitely in order.

Did they charge your credit card or Paypal account? I'd start calling and disputing the charge with your CC company or Paypal. You have the legal right; time to use it, I'd say.

Im not sure whats up....but it took them 3 weeks for them to get there stuff to be because they were waiting for some parts...they kept in contactand i got my parts when they told me i would.....There must be something major for them not to write back.....I spoke with fluid SVT before this has happened and im confident there doing the best they can do.....let me see if i can get a hold of them...But As stated above, you have the right to dispute the pay pal charge...I'll get back to you all.
