What has me concerned is that a/c was NOT on. I have a habit of shutting it down when I need to do heavy accel up big hills. I agree, if the a/c is on I would have said the pwr loss was because of a/c. In this case the a/c is off and when you step on it you can eventually feel a power surge. It's almost like the engine is being choked. I was kind of wondering if it's the throttle hang fix that is in place. The restriction of air through that hose fixes the hang problem but does it cause any other problems? Hope this makes sense.

Enjoy that power surge feeling. That is your secondaries opening. Ford went through some large hassles to have that happen. Believe me, I removed them and had to replace them. They open and the motor "wakes up".
