Today I went to a local car audio dealer (the only one in my area), and got a price quote for a stereo system upgrade. With a new cassette HU (I have a 12 disk changer), new 6x8's in front, 8 GA wire kit, 10" MTX sub, and an amp, along with installation, came to just over $1000! Everything was Pioneer brand except for the sub, because they don't offer anything else. So, instead of passing out cold on the showroom floor, I thanked the man, took my estimate and said I'd give him a call once I had a chance to think about it. I'm not ready to pay that much, (the prices were all MSRP with absolutely no discount), so I travelled to my fave place on the web after CEG, eBay. Please offer opinions on eq I have chosen, and suggest an amp to go along with what I chose:

Kicker Sub w/enclosure The HU wasn't a bad price ($130), and by buying at least something from him, I'm hoping they'll install the rest of my stuff that I'll get for less. I have no idea about wiring stuff (I always did poorly in that portion of my physics class, parallel, series, n all that...). I could probably install that back speakers, possibly the components, but wouldnt really know how to set them, and as far as wiring the amp n all that...I'll need to buy a book.:)
