from what I understand, the only Contours that are really worthy of the chip...are the automatics. Not only will it raise take out the speed limiter...but changes the shift points to a more agressive setting.
You may want to look in the FAQ's...i though at one point somebody wrote up instructions on what needed jumpered in the box...you may be able to do it yourself.
