Glad to hear you're back in business.

BTW placing thermostat in pot of water on stove and bring to a boil is best way to check its operation.

Great...glad that you were able to find the problem quickly, & that it was something easily fixed, but sorry you had to mess w/replacing the stat again! frown But hey, you're an expert at it now!!! laugh

Hey, if you have a chance, let us know if the coolant level in the expansion tank goes down any & you have to add, over the next few days. I'm curious as to whether anyone's system really does purge itself at initial fill up (pouring slowly), or if it takes awhile.

(As I'm getting ready to mess w/all of this myself, I'm kind of on a "mission", LOL, right now, to figure out (& master!? HA! wink ) this complex, octopus hose, reverse flow, cooling system. Hence that above long post - I took that from my notes for myself that I had been gathering, based on experience, research here & at work, & repair & shop manuals - thought I might as well share it - if anyone sees any boo boos there, or knows of an easier/better way to flush, or has anything to add, please let me know. smile )

After my initial run yesterday morning the coolant 'low' light came on..and I topped it up after a couple of hours of cooldown. This am the light was on again and it only needed a small amount of coolant to have the light go off.The light most likely would have gone off on its own at this point after expansion during warmup.
When I redrained the system, I drained via the rad plug.On fillup I added the coolant slowly.

Thanks for the info...sounds good...appears to be burping itself, as it should. cool

So for anyone else draining & refilling, remember to check coolant level for a few days afterwards, as it will probably drop while the system is purging itself of trapped air.
