you could try to buy some used from some other member, but aside from that true duals are going to cost you big... you have to think 2 mufflers.. 2 resonators.. and all the bending involved (bending is expensive).. not to mention the install if you have someone else do it.. There is a group buy about to happen on this.. but it is going to be like 800.. speaking of that.. what is happening with that?

I don't think that was really supposed to be a group buy as much as it was an interest check, but nobody ever responds if you just say INTEREST CHECK. Anyways, to the original poster, what kind of a car do you have and what type of exhaust at the moment? I see you are new...so I must ask what did you mean by dual? Like SVT dual (which isn't true dual exhaust i.e. 1 resonator, 2 mufflers)? You may want to look at the TruBendz website and if you don't care about how loud the exhaust is, choose the "standard cat-back", however if you want your exhaust to sound purty and not quite as loud (still balls-out louder than stock), choose the "resonated cat-back". However note that unless you live in a very salty area, you probably won't need the stainless steel (a $185 option on the resonated version). Hope this helps.

I'm new here, too, and really would like a REAL dual exhaust for my '98 Contour Sport. I think it's rated at 170bhp but would like to get that up a little. One group member said that I couldn't get a turbo charger for the automatic and even if one were made, the tranny couldn't handle it. My brother, who is rebuilding a '64 Mustang, advised the best thing is a true dual exhaust and headers and a superchip really wouldn't do much good without headers and dual exhaust. His advice was to drop a Taurus V8 into it! Would it even fit?! One other question I have is that according to the Ford Website, all '98 Contour Sports with the Duratec V6 came with 4-wheel disc brakes, yet mine only has front discs. Does this mean also, then, that it only has front ABS? Sorry for all the questions at once, but I'm just so excited to have found this enthusiasts' web site!

Welcome aboard. There is a company that can beef-up your auto but be prepared to pay a beefed-up price. A V8 will not fit without a lot of modifying, added weight and much $. I cannot answer your brakes question. You might try looking at the FAQ section on the main page.

1995-1997 V6 Contours came w/ 4 wheel disc. 98+ is when Ford got cheap and only gave manual V6 Contours 4 wheel disc. Very typical from Ford.
