Ok, well I received my K&N 3530 filter today...its a nice and big unit!

I measured the 70/75mm MAF adapter I bought from duratecperformance.com ...

Oddly enough, the inner diameter (gasket side) is a hair over 80mm. The outer diameter (flange side) has an 85mm diameter. I mated up the filter and the adpater and there is a little play, but I guess that'll be eliminated when I strap down to the metal brace.

Looking forward to installing it this weekend!

Here is some good stuff on the MAF screen, and the calibration of the MAF:

Regarding recalibrating the MAF:
-Rara-
All that said, often times you can be fine without the screen, and occasionally you can't. If you do have uneven flow across the MAF, sometimes "clocking" it can help (clocking means rotating the entire MAF about its centerline) to put the sample tube in a better part of the airflow.

Regarding the screen...
-DemonSVT-
Stock MAF - Leave it in.
Aftermarket MAF - Leave it out.
