sheeesh! it's really not that big of a deal. but if you insist...

i like the WRX. i think it will be a good seller. and as i have said in the twenty or so other threads about the WRX and Evo8, the Subaru is better.

i saw another Evo8 in blue yesterday and it looked ridiculous. very ugly front, stupid wing, and chopped off trunk.

since the performance is about the same, i'd choose the WRX.

BUT, since Subaru sacrificed a sunroof for chasis rigidity, i would never buy one.

I agree with you baco about the cars. Mitsu dealer here can't sell their two evos. they are just plain ugly and since STi performance nearly equals EvO performance. then i would get STi wait for warranty to go out and mod it like crazy. .... and people should wear seat belts unless they like to go splat on the street.

lol so the STi is better because the Evo has an ugly front end and stupid spoiler? that kinda negates your whole argument don't you think? Until I test drive both, I'm undecided on which car I think is better but on paper the EVO seems to be the clear choice as far as performance goes. I'm assuming the fact that the EVO's hp is underrated should also help with keeping insurance costs lower than the STi too.

I imagine insurance rates for both would be about equal. Yes the EVO is a better performer. But it looks like crap. Maybe if you're buying it to never drive it on the street and just use it at the track, then it's ugliness would be ok. The STi is so close in perfomance though that you can get it, do a few mods and be killing EVOs and look infinitely better.

in your opinion the STi looks better and there's nothing wrong with that. in my opinion neither the STi or Evo are very eye catching but thats what the aftermarket is for. bottom line is that both cars are a blast I'm sure but personally I'd choose the better performing car (and cheaper) over the slightly better looking one.

i've read a bunch of articles on the 2 cars and everyone says the same thing i just said. the performance is so close that there are only very nitpicky things about handling differences that separate the 2 cars. i think the Evo8 generally gets the egde because the AWD system *may* be a little better. but, comparing apples to apples, i'd still rather have the better looking car.

to be quite honest, i'd rather have a Vishnu or Cobb tuned WRX (older body style) than either of the new models based on price. my that's just my opinion.

i love smoke breaks, especially since idon't smoke, i just leave when everyone else does and is anyone asks i say i'm taking a smoke break with them. i got tired of being the only one working while everyone else slowed up the day by breaking, so i break too

doesn't the EVO have some sort of yoke control or was that only on the previous generation EVO? ... i still think the STi would be better for moddifying in the long run and IT DOES LOOK BETTER. That's a fact not an opinion.

I'd rather have a Cossie Escort over those 2, or maybe an RS4

Anyway, for those still into the seatbelt argument, go look into "Pics & Videos" for a post from me about a month ago about my 1st car. While some of you might not care, I am living proof that seatbelts do work.

I don't think there should be seatbelt laws. However, if there aren't any laws I feel that insurance companies, hospitals, doctors etc. have the right to refuse helping you if you are seriously injured and were not wearing your seatbelt.
