yeah it sucks that people are dumb enough to NOT wear seat belts. i actually think i'd enjoy it if someone flew out of their windshield onto the street after an accident instead of being contained within the vehicle (dead or alive). because that is better.

it also sucks that i can now, after a non-smoking law in bar and restaurants, enjoy my $100 dinner and wine without coming out of a restaurant smelling like the ass end of an ashtray. i'd much rather come home from a club or bar with my eyes irritated and my throat closed up from sucking down someone else's cigarette smoke.

*devil's advocate*

Because drinking is SO much better for you than smoking?
I find it ironically humorous that on a car enthusiast forum (the leading cause of unbreathable air) we are bashing smokers. Yeah...we are really doing our part...

Most drinkers will casual drink on at night or on the weekends. A daily glass of wine or beer has been proven beneficial. Smoking once or every 30 min like most smokers has absolutely no benefits!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

This is was CEG sucks. A thread gets started about something, then it gets hijacked a few times and people just start b|tching about everything and fighting with everyone. Of course, Im sure its like this at a lot of other places on the web too.

NOT bitching?

this is just adult conversation...i don't think anybody is bitching...it's a more of a ceremonial knowledge dance.

i would also like to add that smokers DO NOT work a full day. if every hour involves a 10 minute smoking break, then assuming an 8 hour day, that is 80 minutes of NON-WORK. so, while i work an 8 hour day, a smoker in my office works a 6.5 hour day. and we get paid the same!!!

so, i make up for it by spending that extra time on car related web sites.

You read what you typed right?
I'm assuming that NO company is willing to pay people for smoking an hour and a half a day. I would be pissed too...but c'mon that is just [censored] stupid. And what cig takes 10 min to smoke? maybe they are puffin on a jay-zay

It is not the smoking that takes 10 mins it is the jawing with coworkers that also take their smokebreak and the getting up from the computer and walking outside to smoke that takes the time. I had a friend were I used to work that would take a 20 min smoke break at least 2-3 times a day. He would go to the other side of the building where you would not see the bosses and just hang out smoking a few and talking with people for about 20 mins.
