Actually I know they will, but how easily. Do I need to but away or make a wooden bracket of some sort? Any pics would be awesome and help a ton. I have also heard of people running speaker wire through the door. I also heard this is a pain in the arse anyone verify this or have a how to?

thanks
Mike

Really easy. Trace the stock speaker's outline on a piece of 1/2" plywood and cut the appropriate size hole to mount the 6.5" woofer. You can even mark the locations for the stock mounting screws on the plywood baffle for easier mounting.

I used the stock wiring into the door (spliced in at the factory amp location behind the glovebox) and mounted the crossover in the door. You can also drill some new holes to run the wiring. I'd recommend against messing with the molex (sp?) factory wiring connectors because screwing them up can be a real pain in the a$$ to fix. Try a search using "factory wiring" for more details.

Making the plate is the best way...If you don't mind a little work I would run new wire into the door for the crossover. You can do it drilling any holes in the metal of the car...just take your time. The passenger side is easier than the driver side, at least, in my car it was.

I don't have a how to but I do have some pics, but no way to post them. If you want to shoot me an email I'll send you a couple of the doors and the spot where I ran the wire.

Thanks guys I am actually in the process of making those panels right now. I am just haveing a problem or maybe I did it backwards of cutting the 5 inch hole for the speaker to mount in. I probably should have cut that then traced out the shape of the factory speaker location. The 1/2" ply wood isn't too thick? Like as in there are no clearence problems between the door and the speaker?

Well I am going to go back to the drawing board I guess and find some plywood and try it with that. I was using stuff that was really thin like 1/4" I believe. It was good but kind of flimsy when you are trying to jigsaw the hole out.

thanks Mike

I've used 3/4" MDF with no clearance problems. It's overkill, tho. 1/2" Plywood is easy to work with and is very rigid.
