Well I went to see the 99 CSVT at Summit ford today. #82 of 2760. It had 94,000 kms on it and they wanted $18,900. I told them they were on crack. No moonroof, no cd player (i have my own but still). They will not budge on the price. Dixie Ford sold a 99 CSVT for $16,500 with only 54,000 kms on it and it had every imaginable option including the rare traction control. I must say, the car was in amazing shape and the have every receipt for everything ever done to the car. The car in my opinion isn't worth anymore than $16,000 but with summit you can't win because either way the car will be sold to some poor sap who paid too much. My search continues........

Others would know with more certainty but I don't believe T/C was an available option, although I recall old threads suggesting dash wiring was in place to recontent a T/C switch. Also, there were only a few factory options available on an SVT, most options on base Contour were included with SVT option package.
Current avg wholesale for '99 SVT with 90k km is about $12k according to Red Book.

If they think the car is worth that much, I'll have a double of what they are having....I have seen SVTC's with less mileage going for 16 here in Ottawa too.

I almost bought a '98 E1 SVT last June for 15,000 with 86,000km on it at Barg auto. I didn't 'cause I have to go back to school this September. I'm kicking myself now because I realized when I was doing my taxes this spring I could have afforded to buy it and still be able to pay tuition.

The market for 'tours in general is really down. (from my good friend at Barg). They ARE on crack if they're trying to sell at that price. They must have paid too much for it at the auction, or had to fix too much.

4 Words for all of you to remember:

************NEVER BUY FROM BARG*****************

Do you guys recall the problems I had with them back in December? N-e-ways the one I had was supposedly never going to be sold again after I gave it back but low and behold I found a 99 CSVT for sale in the trader and it was the one I had. Those bastards at BARG called this guy up when they knew I was going to give the car back and they told him that I had bad credit and I couldn't get financing for the car and thats why it was coming back. Truth is it was a lemon and they knew it and now the new guy is taking them to court because they f***ed him in the ass.

Sh!t I wonder what they would give me on trade for my SVT. #84 of 2760 with only 20,000KM and all options. I should go ask for a good laugh. I could pretend to be all interested in their car and when they ask if I have a trade I say yes and show them my car. They would probably offer me $10,000 if that.

Hmm, a second SVT Contour with traction control? I would be most interested to see if it's really true, and that would make 2 of us.

About the pricing on SVT's, I wonder what they would offer me for my SVT. LOL

Even though I am not selling at this time, I have already been offered a fair bit of money, privately, for my SVT, by a couple of persons already. It's tempting, but what would I buy if I was to sell the SVT????????

The dealers are offering next to nothing for trade-ins. I got offered $5000 for my 99 Mystique as a trade on a SVT Focus by Summit Ford.

Best I've gotten so far was $7500 as trade on a 2004 Maxima. Mmmmmmaxima....drool....
