Have a 2000 Sport. Came with the standard cassette and speakers. Have since blown front passenger speaker. Any recomendations on what to get to replace my entire system? I want CD/Cassette.
I can get a Premium CD/Cassette system for a good price that was factory installed in a Ford Escape. Will my wiring be compatible with this unit? Dimentions appear to be the same.

Let me just say that I do not know anything about the escape stereo but going from what I know about other stereos.

Most of the CD and cassette(both in one) stereos that I have seen are double DIN the 2000 Sport has a single DIN opening and if you do not have the premium sound to begin with you would have to add the premium sound amp and all the wiring to get it to work (not worth it IMHO)

If you just want to replace that one speaker I see somebody in the classifieds has all four stock speakers for sale for $20 + shipping (OBO)

my mom has a ford escape XLT, with the stock 6 cd changer up front. i really dont think its a great system. i have stock speakers and a pioneer HU, and i think mine sounds better, though it definitely has limitations.

It looks like they've sold out. These 5x7s will drop in for $2.48/each. You might have to drill a couple mounting holes.

Your stock dash opening is a single din. The escape stereo is some wierd size, not even close to single din. To make it fit, you'd need to do a lot of dash modification. However, if you want a cd/cass stereo, look at this This unit is the only cd/cass combo that will fit in the dash of your car. If you want both cass and CD, you could buy a cass player, and a compatible cd changer

Hope this helps.
