I just bought some 3-way pioneer 6x8's (TS-A6870R) from Wal-mart. They sounded pretty good on their display and they were $56 which is half the price of most of the 6x8's at all my local car audio shops so I decided to get them. When I took them out and installed them in my front doors, I noticed on the woofer part of the speaker, it looked as if there werelines all over it, sort of like a mosiac. I didn't think much of it until i turned the system back on, I could not turn the volume up past 20-21 (out of 33) on my Clarion head unit without the speakers crackling and what not. The factory speakers were louder than these. I then put the fade to the rear speakers which are lightning audio 2-ways and I could turn them up much more than the new pioneers. I just want to know what's up with this. thanks!
[edit]oh, and i went back to wal-mart to check out the display and the speakers on their display did not have lines all over it and they seemed to be much louder and crisper.
