Use a dremel and cut the shifter to whatever length you want. I cut mine around 2 in. You'll need a universal shift knob because you will be cutting off the threaded part of the shifter. Remove the reverse lockout feature by cutting the wire tie that holds the shift boot together. Then use a new wire tie to reattach the boot to the shifter and put on the new knob.
