The Skyline in the movie WAS converted to AWD.  Oh the humanity! 
Sorry bro i ahve to disagree with you. I saw the Skyline up close at Hot Import Nights earlier this year....It was a true R34 AWD skiline (they one for promo use) the 4 used in the movie, 2 were AWD and 2 were converted form AWD to RWD (for certain stunts) but all were original....How do i know??? Well my frined is the one with the 900 HP N/A viper, they let him drive the 2F2F cars...and if you ask for proof let me know, I will e-mail the picks to someone who can post them. He chated with the people who made the cars and they used 4 of each car....the Skilines were all authentic R34 GTR's AWD.
