The REAL definition stems from the RPM (Ricer performance manual). The sound that eminates from the feline rectum when it expells excess methane is very similar to that made by the classic "fartcan" muffler that is the defining modification of the Ricemobile. A common misconception is that the "fart" in "fartcan" refers to human flatulance but infact it is feline..hense the name "catback exhaust".
