For the sake of looking at all options:
I forgot to do a visual underhood inspection until the DAY BEFORE I was to make a 1200 mile move from TX to PA, driving the car myself (What can I say? Moving screws everything up). Checking the belt, what do I see? Many, many itty-bitty cracks with daylight shining through.
Had the dealer do it -- $108, in and out in 50 minutes.
