Just flipped 100k on the wife's 98 Mystique (zetec, ATX), and now we have a couple problems (within about 50 miles! ) There is a whine (rising in pitch with the engine) that you can here above about 3k. Then all of a sudden it was shifting REALLY hard. I decided to turn it off at a light, restart it, and bam, it was fine (whine still persists though). This morning on the way to work (with the whine still present), the CEL came on, and eventually started shifting hard again. Turned it off, back on it's fine again (CEL still on). She is going to go over and have the code pulled on lunch, but any ideas? Seems to be running fine otherwise. I imagine it must be a sensor the way the tranny is acting, but the whine I have no idea (have yet to have a chance to open the hood). Thanks for any

Tranny's completely crapped out. Sure it's the TC, ATX fluid is not low. Any idea how much this is going to cost?
