Man that is just insane to be running!
When my IAT gets above 130 the car dogs out like a pig. I can't imagine after all the extra compressing!
I would think there is a serious amount of engine reliability and durability issues to be had like that!!!
Thats nothing Demon it will idle at 160 degrees on a mild warm day. I think if this car was in AZ it would just roll over and die. Keyser can vouch for my timing maps its is very safe so the hotter it gets the more timing that is pulled, however I realize that is only going to help up to a certain point. I also only see 5psi daily as it only reaches 9 psi when I'm trying otherwise I already shifted.
One thing is certain though this car NEVER feels like a dog
I don't know if I want to spend any more on a IC. If it comes down to it the SC might just come off and I'll run stealth 3L NA and trade it in

Thats an aweful lot of work and a nice car to just give up on. I know man, I felt almost the same way a month ago, but my car was really broken. An intercooler is something you can save up for slowly and isn't going to cost you to install it.
How goes the idle thing? I have mine working good now that the min. pulsewidth setting is down, I replaced the front bank O2 sensor, fixed the faulty MAF electronics and used my emanage to lean out the MAF curve a little more.
What I'm driving at is that it is just a series of steps you have to follow before you reach automotive Bliss! I'm just about there right now, so will you with a little more patience and a few little mods.

I know I can't spring 1500 for an intercooler, but the difference between a hot day and a cool night is pretty significant. Even at the hottest it felt better than before the supercharger, but every once in a while it will startle me how hard it pulls when cool. I think I'll just do a small hood scoop right over the filter/heatshield. It probably will be tacky, but I don't mind. Anybody recommend forward or reverse style?

Yeah its been since oct 16th, 02 that the car has driven like it should, in between there have been a TON of sacrifices and it hasn't been fun at all. I miss the weekend mods days where you did something on a weekend and it ran BETTER then when you started. Mine is definitly fast as h*ll, but I need it to be transparent to changing weather conditions.
My idle issue is still there, I thought I found the problem when I realzed that at 140 and 160 degree IAT it pulled 18 and 18% timing from idle to red line, now we have it only pulling from 1000 rpm to redline and it helpsed it idle a little bit but have a severe lean tip in problem. Also the O2's are pegged rich at idle and it almost stalls from running lean, once I richen it up even more on the optimizer it smooths out the idle! It also smooths out the transition from idle to about 2300 rpm is where it finally clears up. But then runs so rich up top the tail pipes are covered in soot in less then one accleration run.
It almost seems that with a well tuned transfer function we could get it working correctly but something is a miss, why are my O2's pegged rich and it wants more fuel? Why does it go instantly LEAN from idle and under load up to 2300 rpm? Why does it run smooth as glass on some days and kills at every light the next day? Questions like these are getting realy old. The one that I'm most pissed about is
WHY THE F**K DIDN'T FORDCHIP TUNE IT RIGHT WHEN IT WAS IN DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, how is other people's experience with Fordchip? I've been exchanging emails with Alberto for a few weeks now just to get them to see if they can remove the speed limiter and raise the revs on my chip (which I had asked for to begin with, but they didn't get in the first program).

Wait a second! According to some self-proclaimed Duratec tuning guru on the NECO forums, who is actiually an ignorant choad, you can't change the rev limiter as it is "hard-wired" into the car. Yeah right! I LOVE stirring the pot! All joking/sh!t stirring aside. You can change the rev limiter and speed limiter, so good luck with getting Fordchips to help you out on that.

I posted my little string of fixes that finally gave me my solution. Here is what I think I would do if I were you. Install the 24# injectors from the 3L and an SVT MAF. I will send you my 24# injectors and my stock SVT MAF to install if you don't have those components (no charge), use them till you find something else, then send them back. You aren't making over 300 HP (yet!!) so the stock MAF should be good enough for now. Chris has PLENTY of chip burns with the stock SVT MAF and 24# injectors as that is the setup they use for their kit. You get him to burn your chip with the SVT MAF and injectors in mind AND you check out your O2 sensors. My rear bank sensor was switching fine before the turbo, but after running so rich for a few weeks it doesn't look so hot. The front bank was shot so I replaced it. I will replace the rear bank O2 next. Check yours out to make sure they work and replace if necessary. This should get you up and running the way you want to. If it starts to run really good and you begin to feel good about the car, then you can upgrade those components more conservatively later for power levels over 300HP. THAT should be FIRST focus! We'll fix it man! If this turns out good then you work on some way to cool intake air temp. you know my email, email me on the side. Tom

FYI today 81 degrees IAT at 5700 rpm and about 5-6 psi was 190! Timing went down to 7 degrees to compensate.
