You power levels are fine for the average size room.
You might want to look into a Powered Subwoofer.

Otherwise, you should only upgrade for the following reasons...

1)- You need DTS and your receiver doesn't support it.

2)- Your next DVD player is going to support DVD-Audio, and your current receiver either doesn't
- Support 24 bit/96kHz Multichannel & 24bit/192kHz Stereo digital playback
- Doesn't have 6 analog inputs for Multi-Channel input support

3)- You see a REALLY GOOD deal on a THX 6.1 or 7.1 receiver and you just have to have it...

Dolby Digital EX and DTS EX are both encoded so that on a 5.1 playback system,
the rear center channel is played back through both surround speakers.
While it is nice to have it play through its own speaker, it should not be the sole reason for an upgrade.
